West Bengal Election 2026 Live Updates: Amit Shah promises agri push, ‘white paper’ on corruption if BJP comes to power
Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday said the BJP will prioritise agricultural reforms and crack down on corruption if it forms the government in West Bengal. Speaking in Kolkata, he alleged that there has been no “collective effort for modern agriculture” in the state for decades and promised to establish major research centres focused on traditional crops to boost farmers’ incomes.

Shah also launched a sharp attack on the Mamata Banerjee government, accusing it of “institutionalising corruption” and alleging scams worth over Rs 10,000 crore. He said the BJP would ensure a transparent administration and take strict action against those involved in corruption.

Outlining his plan, Shah said a “white paper” would be issued and all allegations would be investigated by a retired Supreme Court judge.
